Author Biography

Jonathan Kuuskoski, University of Michigan

Jonathan Kuuskoski is chair of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Leadership and director of the EXCEL Lab at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance. In those roles, he oversees all aspects of Michigan's wide-ranging arts leadership programming, including extensive career advising, countless cocurricular workshops, a graduate certificate and undergraduate minor, and the annual distribution of $100,000 in student project, venture, and internship funding. He regularly collaborates with many of the world’s leading performing arts organizations—from the Berlin and New York Philharmonics to Martha Graham Dance, Disney Theatrical, Michigan’s own University Musical Society, and beyond—to advance, contextualize, and amplify the field’s best practices among the arts leaders of tomorrow.
